Methodology

This page explains the numbers on Cric First that are not simply the score: the win-probability figure, the odds-history tab, session lines, and how statistics are updated. All of them are informational. Cric First is not a betting service and offers no tips.

Win probability

The win-probability percentage shown on live match pages is derived from the live match-odds market for that match, converted to an implied probability and normalised so the two sides sum to 100%. It is recomputed on every price change, usually several times an over. Before the toss it reflects the pre-match market; after the match it is frozen at the last value. It is not a Cric First prediction model, and it can lag the action by a ball or two on slower feeds.

Odds history

The Odds tab lists, for every ball, the back and lay prices that were available for each team at that moment, as captured by our feed. Gaps mean no price was captured for that delivery. The tab exists so you can see how the market read the match as it unfolded; the figures are historical and are never offered as a price you can take. The tab is excluded from search engines.

Session lines

Session lines are the runs-at-over markets (6, 10, 15 and 20 overs in T20; equivalents in other formats). The app shows which side of the line the batting team ended on once the over is complete, graded YES or NO, as a record of how the innings tracked against expectations. The “P” (paise) scale shown next to a price is the feed's own unit: 100 P is even money.

Scores, scorecards and commentary

Everything on the live, commentary and scorecard tabs is generated from the licensed ball-by-ball feed. Match summaries at the top of finished matches are assembled from the scorecard (result, innings totals, top scorer, best bowler, player of the match, toss) by a fixed template — no language model is involved.

Player career statistics

Career tables are a per-format snapshot (Test, ODI, T20I, IPL and, where available, other leagues) verified against public records and updated after each match a player appears in. Ages are computed from the recorded date of birth. A player page without statistics is kept out of search engines until data exists.

AI match previews

Previews are the only AI-written content Cric First publishes. How they are produced, checked and labelled is set out in the editorial policy.
